The Prairie Pearl series consists of a total of six books. Each of the first five books chronicle the life a girl growing up on the Saskatchewan prairies. Join Ellen Stover, Amy Stanford, Martha Hogan, Vera Eastman and Betsy Connor as they journey through their teen years in small town Saskatchewan in the 1920s, when women had little or no rights.
Learn how Ellen cheerfully shares her wealth, how Amy overcomes sexual and verbal abuse, and how Martha shows her inner beauty. Journey with Vera as she defeats psoriasis and with Betsy as she conquers alcoholism. Included in each book is a great deal of Saskachewan history. Learn how to grow tomatoes, roses and other plants. Read how the prairie settlers entertained themselves through humour and music.
Then, discover where life has led the five girls in Prairie Pearl 6. Recently released, the book brings the girls together for a special reunion.
The Prairie Pearl series is enjoyed by teenagers from ages 12 to 112.
